This is a presentation of the experience of the Institute of Robotics and Machine Inteligence (IRIM) at Poznan University of Technology in a number of areas that are related to earth observation, mobile mapping and objects detection. This experience can be useful defining multi-source solutions for detection and classification of areas endangered by land mines or abandoned explosives. At the seminar was discussed the related development at IRIM, including large scale Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) with laser scanners (LiDAR) or passive cameras, thermal mapping of urban areas supported by laser-based SLAM, terrain classification and object detection from satellite and aerial imagery, object detection from UAV images with on-board edge processing, and navigation of terrestrial robots (UGV).
